For my birthday this past summer, a good friend gave me a GIANT post-it pad.  It's amazing, I love it!  My scanner dropped some of the blue and yellow.  Oh well.  I think this paper size is 12x12 inches?!

I'm also making a little animatic for practice and for a musician I admire!   Goal is to have that animated and up on youtube by December!  It'll be neat! Promise!
Making a note of it so I will STICK TO THE DEADLINE.  Arghh!!

One of my dreams in life is to work on a little mini videogame, with swords and cute monsters.  Wouldn't this be a nice thing to have on a certain website?  So nice.....

PS.   Here is a velociraptor I drew for Avengers, Earth's Mightiest Heroes.  The variant with the top hat was drawn for my director at the time, to make him happy.  His name is Magic Raptor, and he has a stage show called the "Magic Pancake Hour".  So when Wolverine kills the dinosaurs, know that he also killed the dreams and hopes of this magical beast.  He is now my icon on tumblr.

DC Nation didn't air this past weekend.  I don't know why.  I do not know when it will officially be back, but the Amethyst shorts are done, and I feel really fortunate to have had a chance to work on them.

  

I was allowed to be myself, to be creative, and to work with people I greatly admire.  Many talented artists never get that chance.  So I'm not mad, and the shorts exist, eventually they'll get released in some format.  

Saturday was disappointing, but there is probably a good reason why CN is holding off.  Hopefully whatever it is, it gets worked out soon.  Thanks to anyone who's sent me a kind message, but no worries.  Amethyst is done, and I've got new projects that need attention. ❤

In the meantime, here are some sketch cards I made for friends at this year's San Diego Comic Con!

DC Nation, round 2, FIGHT!

This Saturday morning DC Nation starts airing new shows on Cartoon Network.  A nice surprise is the fifth SBFF short!

Lauren was nice and let me board it off of her script.  Plus it has Solomon Grundy!!!

Hawkgirl was just a doodle for fun... I don't think she'd be thrilled with Grundy trying to throw large cars at small children, or maybe some of the goofs these teenage girls do to poor Grundy.

Sorry Grundy!  ;_;

 Colored and cleaned up an old unused pose.  I don't know when Amethyst airs...but it'll be real soon!

Upon a Time

I scanned the top image with my newer scanner, and it couldn't pick up the hot pink hearts at all.  They were a dull blue.  So back to the dying Epson... poor little epson scanner.

Look what's in the back of the recent Green Lantern: The Animated Series comic book!  Was a surprise to me.  I swear this will be the last time I bring this up, my friends must be so annoyed by now.

Been using my phone to take pictures of doodles, hadn't had much time to scan stuff in.

I joined a tumblr group, we make gifs!

Playing in Photoshop

The past few weeks, I've felt useless with any art I've been making.  I probably need a vacation or something.  Recently, after getting home from work, I've been messing around in photoshop, just letting my brain wander.
Made this using the lasso tool and paint bucket.  Just needed to get the 80's toys out of my system.  I want to move onto my own characters again.

The animation timeline in Photoshop is interesting, I want to keep working with it.  Here are a few animated gifs, it doesn't seem possible to keep consistent timing on various browsers?

Almost forgot, the "Red X" short that I boarded aired last weekend.  Here's some board panels that were cut for time and the fact that I don't know what I'm doing.

Cartoonfuntime on Twitter showed me how to make custom brushes in photoshop!

Also missing drawing on paper.  Maybe again someday...

I survived San Diego Comic Con, and somehow survived the past year!  Saw a lot of friends from near and afar last weekend, many who helped make the Amethyst shorts.  Finally there is some animation online, pretty exciting.

I do not know when the new shorts air, but in the meantime, here's some heroines!

Jimmy Crack Corn

Last week, my little brother got married!  I didn't have a lot of time to pack, and forgot my camera, but the wedding planner took some wonderful photos.  She's awesome!

I did draw my brother's wedding invite, but never checked with him if I could post it.  He is a shy one.

This past weekend, I drew mindlessly, got an oil change on my car finally, and dropped off sketchbooks at Stuart Ng for San Diego Comic Con.  I drew a sketch sticker in each one.  :)  

Next week's post will be for SDCC.

Been stressed out about the dumbest things, but I guess if no one else is worried, then I won't either.

It's been awhile since I've felt comfortable to just sketch.  There is always something important I should be drawing, or fixing, and that doesn't leave much time for brain wandering.  Then drawing becomes a chore, and a job.  

Luckily, it's getting back to normal.  Time to start figuring out another book.

Oh, and this song has been on repeat alllllll month!
