I went to Anime Expo...

...and there was a Cosplay Life drawing session my friends dragged me too. I was exhausted, but it ended up being alot of fun. I saw an old CSSSA friend there, and another classmate I hadn't seen in five years.
I wasn't planning on drawing at the con, and didn't bring the supplies I'm used to. These are all drawn in a tiny crappy sketchbook. Most of these guys held the poses better than the naked models I had drawn from years ago. Mad props to you crazy cosplayers, all that sewing must strengthen your stamina.

"Dude, your princess in another castle."

Naruto's colors are switched. And he is drawn poopy. The girl dressed as Hsien-ko is an old CSSSA roommate!

Polka Vocaloid?

"Do you liek autobots?"

Afterward we went to Mimi's Cafe for dinnar. We bought four "Gurren Lagann" suprise toy boxes, but ended up with three of the same toy! :( How does that happen? While I was putting mine together, the little boy from the table next to us started playing waiter. This pretty much summed up our conversation. He really liked the robots.

P.S. It's true, Anime Expo weakens the immune system.

Apple Blossoms

These photos were taken by my Mom this past spring. Today is her birthday!

They become apple blossoms. I haven't been home in a few years to see them bloom.

Apples are pretty.

Sketchbook apple sprites.

One of my earliest childhood memories is walking through a blossomed apple orchard with my mom. I'm not sure where we were going, to see Dad, get the mail, or just getting out, but Adam wasn't born yet. That's my Dad's dog Mugger.
He could ride passenger on motorcycles and used to pull my sled. When I first saw "Hey There it's Yogi Bear", I thought the dog in that was named after him.

I have photos from my trip last week, but I'm too sleepy to get them all uploaded tonight.
Here is one of Toodles and Toonces. They are the new kitties my family has back home. They are sister and brother.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
This was a request for a friend's bday last week. No more Nono for the rest of the year. Dang that's a small apple..... D:

__________
I was trying to find a music video for "Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White" sung by Georgia Gibbs, but couldn't find one. The song is lovely though, go find it.

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes

... but marry brunettes.

This was for my friend's 30th bday, that was on Friday the 13th. She likes this movie alot, so I tried to draw it. :/

It is Father's Day. Happy Father's Day! Swedish Chef! One more Beaker for you! He sings a song!

I'm going home for a bit next weekend. I can't wait to get out of this town and breath clean air! Christmas in June!

Bizzy Stuffs

Here is a bunch of stuff I've been working on last couple of years. All the drawings are mashed together, they are secret!

Until next year, if it looks like they might be ok for a sketchbook. One of the projects I've been working on for awhile, with friends helping/putting up with me. The other is a children's book, and all the images should be colored by the end of this summer, and it won't be published until fall 2009. So maybe a sketchbook next summer of all that crap. Being unhirable for millions of months has lifted the guilt of spending time on my own work.

I was bored last week so I animated a dragon walking for no reason. He has no goal. He sucks. It was made in flash with a wacom tablet. Really dumb way to work. Paper and scanning would have been faster, but maybe with a cintiq it would have been close. Behold the wonkiness! The colors got sucky and grainy when uploaded, looks like a bad 1980's vhs tape. If you look closely, you can see accidental bunny roughs.

The music is "Money Loving Dragon" by Yoko Kanno.

I have decided to change careers and become a doctor. I am going to "Dr. Mario's Fancy Doctor School for People Who Don't Draw Good". My teacher is the Boogervampire, standing to the right. As you can see, my color matching skills are to be desired. I hope to cure stomach cramps and migraines someday.

Here are some photos of Skippy, since he is still alive.

Bye for now.
P.S. I saw "Kung Fu Panda". It made me happy. The cg animation on the turtle was ahhmahzing!

Father's Day comes twice this month.

Today is my Dad's birthday. Again. I am sleepy and tired, I did not know what to draw so I drew a mermaid taking her daddy shark out for some lunch.

I saw that Indiana Jones movie. Will someone please splice THIS with some Crystal Skull clips? I am too busy/lazy to do it, and it was the only thing I could think about through the whole movie! I kept expecting them to look over their shoulders! I went with some friends to see that movie. There was a commercial at the beginning of the film that had Michael Bay in it exploding stuff, 'cause that's what he does. Some of us were joking about it in the theater, and later found out Michael Bay was sitting directly behind us, since his buddies were clapping during the commercial. Weird.....
Still haven't seen "Iron Man"! >:(

Orange and Blue

They are my favorite colors. I read somewhere once that this combination represented insanity. Don't know if it's true.

It's been getting hotter in LA. It's smells like disgusting burning garbage. Bleh...

!!! !! ! ! ! !

Month old marker doodle of a random face.

Went to the dentist, thought I had a cavity. Turns out I was brushing my teeth wrong, making them sensitive. Only I would be capable of brushing my teeth wrong. They are healthy though.
Hung out with friends today, they are nice. They gave me Mario Kart! Yay! No time to play! Boo!!! (maybe Tuesday...)
Going to the beach tomorrow with Mary, maybe I will see some crabs, sand dollars, and seagulls.
A show got picked up! More freelance for me! YAY! May even have time this week for my own projects! This will be a good week! Exclamation point punch!

Special link of the week: Tecmo Secret of the Stars"
This was a game my brother and I played one summer, long, long ago. It sucked horribly, so bad, that we couldn't stop playing it. The Engrish was amazing, the plot made no sense, the monsters were completely stupid, and the box art was special in it's own way. We used an Etch-a-Sketch to keep track of where we were in the dungeons. We got close to beating it, but finally got bored. There is actually a naked lady towards the end you have to fight, but I doubt anybody else made it that far. Tecmo should have stuck to football games. By the way this video is great because the narrator has a fantastic accent.

Power in Numbers 3

It's that time of the year again. Power in Numbers 3 is Saturday 7-11pm, April 12-28. This year money raised will go to the
Make a Wish Foundation of Greater Los Angeles.
Pieces are all 5x7 and each will be $100. Go to www.gallerynucleus.com to see the cool artists submiting art!
Below is my stupid, cartoony, immature piece. I haven't had alot of time for anything other than freelance lately so that's all there is. His name is Dainty. Dainty Giraffe. Hopefully he doesn't end up in the dust bin some where and actually raises some money. Or he will be a failure of an angel giraffe.

Here is a photo of my dog back home. She has a sheep on her head. Poor abused puppy!

I went to the Swallow's Parade at San Juan Capistrano last weekend. It was awesome but I forgot my camera. There was a bull walking down the street with a man standing on him. It was crazy!! Oh well.

Sailor Barfday

This was from the week of birthdays awhile ago. One of my friends is a walking encyclopedia on Sailor Moon. I am without the monies. So I made this instead of buying nice chocolates, bubble bath, or toys. It is wonky. Blah! Next post will not be bad anime fanart/FArt. Here is some awesomey Sailor Moon art by Miss Katie Shanahan. March must have been Moon month.

Look what my friend Lori found in Tokyo, SUPER MOOGLE!!! RAWWWWW!!!

Fly me to the moon

I drew these for a friend's recent birthday. She collects some of the toys, so I thought these might be nice for her depressed children collection. Staying up drawing these brought back alot of memories from art school. It's funny, alot of people assume all we watched were "The Jungle Book" and Nine old men animation, but we were introduced to "Evangelion" end of our freshman year in 1999. A group of us borrowed the complete series from a friend and watched all the episodes in less than a week. The next fall, we watched "End of Evangelion", and the nerds debated what the whole thing meant. One of our story teachers used to bring clips in from the anime for various examples. There is some amazing animation in the show, and alot of media references it nowadays.
Gainax is producing four movies retelling the story, the first one was released in Japan not too long ago. Here is the first trailer and the second trailer for "Rebuild of Evangelion". I think WETA may still be working on a live action movie based on "Evangelion". Good luck to them if they are, they have a huge task in front of them.

Springtime!

I hate peeps! They are gross! People give them to me every year, but usually they end up in the microwave or hiding in my cubbard. I found some once that were a year old, they don't last forever like Twinkies, they turn into rocks! When I eat one, part of me dies.

I went to a bridal convention Sunday with my friends who are getting married. We were joking that it was going to turn into that horrible Sailor Moon episode and that the Negaverse villians would be there to drain our energy. The convention was pretty horrible. Ugly wedding dresses, bad dj's, bad wedding photographers, and no Tuxedo Mask in sight. It was still a fun day though.
Here is that particular Sailor Moon episode by the way, in all it's horrible English dubbed glory:
Wedding Day Blues pt. 1
pt.2

I am doing some fun freelance. Five year old Brianne is very happy.

Mostly work, some play.

Stuff from about the last two years. If anyone knows what shows these are from, go outside and get some sunshine already! Jeez! I'm going to bed!

When life hands you gophers, make stupidity.

Derrick Wyatt designed Sari. I just got to put fancy clothes on her.

Pretty sure Chris Hooten colored this and made it look nice. Couldn't find my line art. :(

"Congratulations! You made it to the end of this post and found the princess! Now what are you going to do?"

Blah blah blah blah.....blah.
