A few minutes

Been really busy. A lot of stuff is going on. Won't be able to post about most of it for awhile. Maybe later this fall?
Some randomness from a few minutes I've had this past month.

Princess Tomato is for the upcoming Girls Drawing Girls book that'll be available at San Diego Comic Con. It's flora themed, I picked Tomato.
It's based partly on veggie themed video games I played as a wee child. I remember the princess was always a tomato, specifically in "Spud's Adventure". I guess there was also a "Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom" that I never got a chance to play. Tomato princesses are popular!

"Spud's Adventure" was so weird. I'd always try playing it because the characters seemed interesting, but kept getting to this one part that'd frustrate me to no end!

The rest of this post in nonsense that was drawn during Anaheim Wizard World, and at the Burbank, CA Costco over the weekend. San Francisco, Danville, and Conchord, CA Costcos currently have "Billie the Unicorn" in stock.
I left a few signed Billie books at the Burbank store. The signing went really well, saw a few kids who were on their way to pick up big cakes for their birthdays! Lots of polite and happy kids!

Rainbow Brite of Asgard

...I've been slowly watching "Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer" over the week. I saw Thor Friday night. They both have rainbow bridges. This crossover must happen.

"I am the most magnificent horse in the UNIVERSE!" Oh Starlite...

Billie necklaces and unicorn prints are now available on Nucleus's website! Yay!

Necklaces
Prints
Here is a scene from "Thor"!

BTW I really did like Thor.

Wiped out

The Wizard World comic con at Anaheim was crazy! We were only there Saturday, apologies for anyone who came by Sunday. I started feeling sick so didn't come back. I've spent most of Monday having a mild asthma attack. Fun times!
Thanks to anyone who came by over the weekend and picked up a book, prints, or a necklace! I'm almost out of charms, but should have some at the end of the month. If anyone in LA is looking for a signed book, Robocon in Chinatown might still have a couple...

Here is some poop I draweded-ed.

Wonder Girl was a commission. I'm not taking any more commissions for awhile, have a lot of drawing to get through this month!

Baticorn sketch for someone at Anaheim. They couldn't decide between Batman or a Unicorn. This is the only option I could think of. He has an utility saddle!

Alan W. took this away.

Robot/Geisha combo theme for girlsdrawingirls.blogspot.com and bristolwhip.blogspot.com
I need to catch up with the themes on Bristol Whip. So behind. -_-

I drew a butt for the Girls Drawing Girls April theme. At least it's a clean butt.

Anaheim this weekend!

I'll be at the Anaheim Comic Con this weekend, sharing a table with the illustrious Mr. Thomas Perkins. Do you like aliens? Do you like unicorns? If you come to our table, we will hook you up with both! It's like peanut butter and jelly!
We will NOT be there Friday, I will be stuck at work being a good person doing job stuffs, but will be there Saturday and Sunday! I will have the usual assortment of books, charms, and prints....and maybe a few sketch cards.
Our table is against the wall, near the bathrooms and food, #1900!! Bathrooms, food, and comics, they go so well together!

Hope everyone had a hoppy Easter. I don't know what is up with this drawing, I just wanted to draw a team of bunny girls that use random objects for weapons. They have absolutely nothing to do with Easter.

I had a marker workshop at Nucleus last weekend. It went really well, thank you to everyone who came out. I understand it was a busy holiday weekend for a lot of people, and I really appreciate everyone who traveled out to Alhambra to visit. I hope I didn't bore anyone, I take a long time inking and tend to ramble when I'm nervous.
There were a few high school students, a couple of girls from Calarts (they were within the last days of finishing their films for Open Show, WHY WEREN'T YOU TWO SLEEPING OMG?!?♥ I still get nightmares this time of year about finishing a film) a couple of families with their cute kids, one of my teachers from CSSSA, co-workers, people who were on a bus for hours.... I hope you ALL had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed the rest of your Saturday!
Nucleus did take some charms and prints from me, I don't think they have posted them yet. I'll link to them when I know they are online, for the people who have been emailing me inquiring about them.

I also got to meet Chi the drummer for The Go! Team last Monday. Chi is awesome, she gave me some signed EP's, and we went to dinner with a few friends. We mostly talked about cute dogs and where to find comics in Los Angeles, next time she visits we'll take her shopping for books! The concert was great, it felt good to get out and jump around like a goofball. Thank you Chi!♥ ♥ ♥
I need to add the UK to the places to visit!

Upcoming Unicorn Undertakings

Survived my first Wondercon! Thank you all who came by, it was really great meeting everyone! The book did super well, we almost ran out! The book is also available online now, and hopefully it won't be on back order for awhile.
At the moment, I'm getting over a sore throat, or as one of my friend's calls it, "The Wrath of Con".
I didn't get to explore San Francisco very much, that will have to be for another time.

Batgirl and Supergirl were for a commission someone contacted me for weeks ago. They picked it up from me at Wondercon.

Here's is my part of the table.

A lot of kids and their parents came by. These two friends had matching friendship hoodies! I also saw a girl with a Thor/unicorn shirt!

Also, saw a Donna Troy Wondergirl, wandering around!

A husband and wife kept ping ponging back and forth from the Tiki Machine/Muertoons table and mine. I ended up making them two quick baby griffin sketchcards.
Oh boy camera phone!

If anyone who couldn't make it to Wondercon would like a signed "Billie the Unicorn" book, prints, etc, I'll be at a couple of events this month.

I'm going to be doing a marker rendering workshop at Nucleus, April 23rd. Check the site for any materials to bring if you'd like to sketch along!

I'm going to be sharing a table with Thomas Perkins at the Anaheim Wizard World Comic Con. This will be a great opportunity to see alien creatures and unicorns living in peace and prosperity!

WonderCon Goodies!

I'm going to my first WonderCon this coming weekend! Above is what will be at the table!
The "Billie the Unicorn" books will finally be available, apologies to everyone who has been waiting and emailing about when they will ship. If you pre-ordered, they should be shipping at the beginning of April. Sorry it's taken so long! XC

WonderCon info:
Immedium's booth, 220 (we're right next to Baby Tattoo Books' booth!)

I'll be there Friday till Sunday, with prints, buttons, and acrylic charm necklaces! If you want a signed book or a doodle, please come by. There will also be a few shirts for the curious!

Thank you again for everyone who has emailed me inquiring about Billie, and for everyone who has taken the time to review the book!
I'll have more info and dates about upcoming events next week. :D

Frock-a-lock

"Lock Frock" is for the "Shave and a Haircut" show at Monkey House Toys, this Saturday, March 19th.

I'm planning on donating money made from the piece for Japan. It's been utterly heartbreaking seeing the news of what is happening in that country. Everyone was so nice and friendly when I visited in January. I'm very relieved to know my friends there are safe.
Currently, I am going thru artwork to put up for auction donation. More details soon.

************* ************ *********** ***********

"Banana Cat Sundae" was originally for my "Girly Poo" iPhone/iPad app. It's 5x7, and will be available at Q Pop's "Help Japan Art Fundraiser".

Unicorns, gallery shows, and suprises OH MY!

Hey everybody! Gallery shows next weekend, one in Burbank, CA. The other one will be in Lincoln, NE!

The Burbank piece.

Billie and her cousins having a picnic with a very difficult Queen, and her Gear Grunt robot. This drawing is not part of the "Billie the Unicorn" book, but the Queen and one of her robot guards is.
They'll be in the "Women in Animation" gallery show. The flyer and list of girlie artists can be found HERE!

This Friday, March 4 · 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Gallery 839 @ The Animation Guild
1105 North Hollywood Way
Burbank, CA

The next two pieces are for "March of the Unicorns" at the Lichen art gallery, in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Billie and her bees will be there.
A local girl scout troupe will be displaying their hand made books at the gallery too. I really want to see those, wish I could go. It's such a great idea to get the local community involved in art. Hopefully there will be some photos online later. I don't have an artist list yet, but here is the info, and gallery website,

March of the Unicorns
March 4th–25th
The Lichen
2810 N. 48th St.
Lincoln, NE 68510

I got the final proof for "Billie the Unicorn" a few weeks ago. It will be hard bound, and the color came out really close to the original artwork. I've been giddy since then. I don't have an exact date when the books will be here, but they will definitely be at Wondercon in San Francisco March 31-April 3. I will be at the Immedium table, hopefully with a few extra goodies. Never been to San Francisco or Wondercon before, looking forward to adding a bunch of new art books to my collection!

Recent Youtube favorite! Why does Studio 4°C have to be so awesome? I was lucky and had dinner with one of the directors while in Tokyo. Interesting talk on the differences of which animation principles are taught in US schools vs Japan's. Seems like we start with sack and ball bounce animations, they focus on composition first.

Barfy composition.

Offense Defense

Arghh, I keep sitting on my feet when I'm working. Pins and needles!

Don't worry, the blue one's wings will grow back, and then she's going to be super angry.

Happy Eat a Million Cupcakes Day

Was going to draw an epic cupid drawing, but no time. So here is Skippy with a cupcake, and Jimmy Durante. Awwwww.

Strolling along

Unicorns like strolling.
Skippy does not.
