Did somebody say "Chocobo"?

Nerd lesson for today.
Chocobos are to Final Fantasy as Taun Tauns are to Star Wars. They have an annoying theme song and look like giant chickens. They can be different colors, with each color having different skills. You don't really need them to get around in the games, they are useless. That is a moogle on the chocobo's head. They like to dance and only say stupid things like "Kupo!". They like to eat nuts. I think the birds from Nausicca came first, so the chocobo is probably a rip off of that.
Many hours of highschool were spent listening to teachers while I drew videogame characters. This is why I'm now stupid. Be smart, read books.

The Endangered Puppy Kitty

It's a puppy kitty, a relative of the demon Furby. He is the last Puppy Kitty in existence. He feeds on the souls of the young and innocent, and his ears are stinky. I'm not sure what to think of him, he looks like some sort of escapee from "All Dogs go to Heaven" or something. Errrggghhheeewwwww....

If you wish to adopt the Puppy Kitty, he shall be at the Martha and Larry Baxton auction. It looks like they are still accepting donations and pieces, so if you have the time and means, please do. Puppy Kitty will be happy.

Pandora radio

Oh pandora radio, it is so fantastic. I love it! You give it suggestions of the music you like, and it plays similar music, including your favorites. Plus, if you run across a song you like, you can bookmark it, by artist, album, or song, with direct links to Itunes and amazon in case you want to buy it. Legally. It is fun to listen to while working on the computer, I am sure artists and anyone else stuck in front of computers may like this link too. I am going to miss it when I go back to work next week.
I made my first kao ani today. It was hard to do 'cause I did something stupid and it pixelated it weird. Here he be. He is for the link to my girly, depressing pandora radio station.

I think the music note pops funny. Booooo.......

Look at this awesome toy Val and I found at Giant Robot. Jealous? Mwa ha ha ha!!!!

Sequins

I was watching the movie "Sequins". I tried to draw the actors. Oh well, it was fun to draw at least. The movie was pretty good. It's about motherhood and embroidery.
The depressed embroideress and her pregnant protege'.

A moody guy, who's moody for most of the movie. He likes to fish.

Ghost cat

At lunch, the discussion led to kitties who were in cased in retaining walls of homes and gardens. Somebody mentioned that this was once popular in Ireland, and the ghost cats would ward off evil spirits. I don't know if that's true, but a ghost cat would be an awesome pet!
Here are some lame comic con photos.
Here are some things my little brother instant messaged me. He asked me if this was kinda like comic con. Kinda....
Hee hee, this is funny.
FF7 Robot Chicken
K' bye.

ComIck Con nerd quest-o-thon 2006 super deluxo edition with sprinkles

Hmmmmm......yes........

I am going there with some fellow nerd girls. Maybe we shall see more of San Diego than just the convention center? Some people asked if I'm going to have anything new there. Not really. But if you have money to burn and are into that sort of thing, Stuart Ng's booth should have copies of sketchbooks "Banana Cat" and the really old shitty "Oxytocin" for sale. Nucleus' booth might have copies of the sketchbooks too, along with "Pirouette" and "Arrow Bird" prints. Sell Out R Me.
There is alot of stuff to see and do. On Saturday, there's this for those who are interested:
Sat. 7:00-9:00 The Batman Q&A, followed by Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo World Premiere Screening.

There are plans for a Martha Baxton auction. Martha is like the den mother for many Calarts animation grads, and her husband became ill recently. Some of the students have banded together to help raise some funds to try to make life a little easier for Martha and her husband. More up to date info here.

Just heard that Tria maybe discontinuing some of their marker colors. I couldn't find much info online about it, but www.artsuppliesonline.com mentions the line is being revamped, and that the new markers will not correspond to the Pantone matching system. Yippie. :C Guess Leo Hobaica was right. I need to start painting with gouache.

Monday, I went to Disneyland. They have an Asimo exhibit in Tomorrow Land, but my camera doesn't want to talk to my computer.(I'm stupid, I got it to work. Lame Disneyland photos here). Luckily, Youtube has a better video anyway. They are coming so close to jumping off the stage and strangling humans. Oh Asimo, you are so cute.

All nerds have a safe trip during your migration down south. Remember to bathe every day!!!!!

Crabs of the 80's unite!

Summer vacation starts Monday for meeeeeee...
This girl was for an invite for a lady back home that's throwing an 80's party. My mom called with the request for a blonde 80's girl, so I did this. I dunno why she has a chewed up piece of bubble gum in her hair. It's supposed to be a scrunchie. Whenever I think of the 80's, I think of "The Chipmunk Adventure". Anyone else have this problem?

Someday I want to visit Christmas Island. So I can visit my people. The crabs.

If you'd like to learn more about the Christmas crabs, track down the documentary "March of the Crabs". Most of the footage is from that video.

Fourth of July (is coming soon!)

Nobody blow themselves up with fireworks. 'Cause that is BAD!!!! Be safe and make sure your bbq'd meat is fully cooked, as to prevent Ecoli and other intestinal illness'.

Beast Boy's Patriotic Gerbils. Yay.

Clicky for hidden drawrings...

Exercise your freedom to watch wobbly, molecular-ly unstable kittens!! They could explode at any moment!

"Arrhhhhgghhheeoooo!!!"

Thanks for all the posts on the crappy pig/turtle drawing. I felt bad so I tried to make a dragon. Markers make me dizzy.
I have no idea what this post-it is about. I don't remember.

Sanrio says "Buy Hello Kitty. Buy our crap, children. Now."

Animator VS Animation!!

Found this making the rounds online via www.weebls-stuff.com. It's a flash short called "Animator vs Animation". It was created by a young lad named Alan Becker. Anyone who deals with Flash all day will probably find this funny. Brings back stuffy air memories of being stuck in the college computer lab for days. Start seeing things after awhile.
Here's a stinky obligatory sketch for Monday. Hooray.

Eastern Washington Happy Time

There are quail in the orchard with little round babies. I didn't get a picture of them. Here are some photos of potato fields and apple orchards. I don't know how to make a tutorial about color, but just observing what's around you can help!
Lots of home.

Dadeee-O

I get to visit my family this weekend to celebrate my Dad's birthday. We are having a bbq. The drawing above is my Dad as a potato, he doesn't have a beard but he does have a mustache. It is difficult to draw a potato that doesn't look like a turd. This was printed on a post-card for invites. Yay for schmancy art school so I can make a post card for his B-day. Yay!!
Here's a funny video with a Daddy catipillar, and his baby.

I drink lots of tea. Evil catipillars...

Memorial day weekend

Princess Tutu sez "Have a good weekend and don't be a punk on the road!"

She was created by Ikuko Itoh and doesn't look this grotesque. Sorry Miss Itoh.
While researching this person, I found her most recent work has been on a "Dog Potato" show. This is now my favorite show although I haven't seen an actual episode yet. There is a flash game on the official site somewhere. It is intense! It's so hard getting all the stars in the sky while jumping off of dirt bumps.
Potato Dog's official website! Yay potato dog!! I luv you!! Jaigaimo-kun!

Mr.Goodbar

This past week has been super busy for me for some reason. Maybe 'cause it's nice and sunny outside and I don't want to be in front of a computer at all. I'm working on lots of stuff I can't post online, but here is something stupid I made for my friend Abby. She likes chocolate, alot, and there are always bowls of candy out around at work. I made this real quick before hanging out with her on a Friday night. Here is something funny! Dumb Dinosaur!!
