Long Time No See

Haven't updated in months.  Back drawing storyboards, really busy with the comic, and amazing freelance.  My comic is still on Dummcomics.com, but now has it's own site too!  www.harpygee.com

The top piece will be used as a cover for a Harpy Gee book, containing all the pages of chapter 1 in color, plus a few goodies.  I'm going to be at www.comicartsla.com in December, and am planning on having this book available there.  I'll look into having it carried online, and having copies at ECCC next spring.

If you are near Burbank, CA this Friday, the top piece and everything else in this post will be in a gallery show!  I'm also framing a few of the original black and white comic pages for display, and might bring a few more older pieces.  Not everything will be available for sale.

Doctor Lollipop!

Early this year, the lovely Aliki T. Grafft asked me to help with character designs on a short.
It was released yesterday on Cartoon Hangover, and is the creation of Miss Kelly Martin!

Look at all these unicorns from the past few years.
Billie the Unicorn and her cousins,
Amethyst and her pegacorn,
Parry Gripp's Space Unicorn,
and finally Kelly Martin's Doctor Lollipop!

Here are some early Dr. Lollipop roughs, originally I thought he was more of a Ludwig Von Drake type, but when I found out he had a manly voice, that changed.
Then he became a bishounenicorn.

One of my coworkers started reading the original Amethyst comics, and has been sending me screen grabs of various comic book panels.  She's on the Jade arc right now, so it's really hard for me not too doodle the ridiculous drama.  Amy hasn't had real sleep in a week because of these morons and their problems.

Speaking of this coworker, follow Kathryn right now, she draws really cute superheroes!
(She also drew the model sheet for Dark Opal in his boxers)

Almost forgot, Derrick Wyatt sent me a blob fish photo on twitter, and then asked what a blob fish powers would be on Gemworld.  This is what happens when animation nerds look at fish photos I guess...

I'm so sorry...

Just Desserts!

Gallery show this Saturday evening in Los Angeles!
"Just Desserts" is being curated by my good friend Mary Hoffman, and will be held at Monkeyhouse Toys, in Los Angeles, CA.  It starts at 6pm, and bread pudding will be served!  Come on by to see some delectable art and chat with friends.
I'm contributing two pieces, "Rhubarb Pie", and "Pineapple Upside Down Hula"!
I love pineapples, but they taste best fresh.  Can't stand the canned stuff.  I want to go on vacation again so I can just eat pineapple allllll day.

Here's the flyer for the show, with time, place, and a full artist list.

Just because I drew tiki gods, here some old tiki stuff I animated a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far, away...

On a new project at work.  Really  nervous.  D:

Sleeping is fun!

It's been a couple of weeks since the Emerald City Convention in Seattle.  Had some time to rest a little, and back to busy.  Been trying to wake up super early in the morning, and catching up on lists at work.  It feels like an unending game of Tetris, good thing I like Tetris.  Other than the Harley up above, and some convention doodles, there hasn't been much time for drawing frivolously.

A nice fellow and his wife gave me a blind bag MLP, and Pepperdance was inside!  She is one of my top prizes from my trip, and she's going to live on my new work desk tomorrow.  I LOVE her so much!  The couple who handed her to me came by my table quite a few times, and they were awesome and lifted my spirits.
I was drawing on stickers for those who purchased a sketchbook at ECCC, and drew a few sketch cards too!  Never drawn Pixie before, the girl who asked for her had a really well done Pixie cosplay.  She was hanging out with a Storm too, wish I would've grabbed their photos.

Amy Mebberson drew Eilonwy for me!
I also got to meet Jon McNally, Laurie B! and Miss Cartoonfuntime!

Some doodles living on my desk.

Some old Billie and Harpy art, when I was trying to decide delaying finishing Billie, in favor of having time to give Harpy a go. Was going to put it in "Tatertots", but forgot. Derp.

The rest is just endless nonsense. So much drawn. So much weird stuff. Considering throwing some voices on the sad old animatic and just throwing it on blogger. It's definitely amateur, but everything starts somewhere.

Not sure if anyone remembers my drawings of Alabaster, the knight.  Here is her Dad training her in battle, she's seen bloodshed before she could walk.  She lives in Harpy's world.
