Labour Day Weekend

I cleaned and went through artwork, alot of old freelance and other stuff that I don't even remember drawing. I'm going to go pick up some folders and such for them tomorrow. That's all I did this weekend. I was being stalked all day....

Obviously, my adversary is skilled in the art of camouflage.

    pretentious fairy

One good thing about having a blog, it forces you to do something new everyday. That's for sure. Hooray for three day weekend! Maybe there will be time to get all the ideas in my head on paper. Everything that has been going on in the world is too much to comprehend. Drawing silly little foofy things is an escape. Artists are lucky.

Also, there is a larger version of the polar girl picture
  • here
  • if anyone is interested. I'm going to try to have that be a weekend project.

    Polar Bear

I did this as a warm up yesterday morning. I want to do another pass. Alot of things bug me. Especially the leg line pointing at the back of her head. The composition is even too. Blah!!

Here is Skippy. I am learning how to make gifs. Skippy is on the blog too much. I need to get a life.

Jump Rope girl and her friends

These drawings aren't related, but I decided just now, after I had scanned and uploaded them, to make a story!
Once upon a time, there was a girl who liked to jump rope in her rollerskates. It was very fun.

Until one day when her evil step sister thought the girl was making too much noise with all the jumping. The evil step sister went "SSSSHHH!!!" to make some quiet. Then proceeded to pick her nose.

So the Jump Rope girl stopped jumping, since her sister thought it to be noisy. This made the fairy of Jump Rope very sad, so she sat and contemplated making peanut butter toast to quell her depression. Someday, the fairy would put a spell on the evil step sister, so she too can enjoy jumping rope. The END!!

This article has been around awhile me thinks, but it is an interesting interview with the head designer, plus many beautiful pictures of skeletons and such.
    Enjoy!

    Girl show and a camera!

Camera is very good! Look at Skippy! He is so amazed by it, his eyes are going walleyed!

I decided to put up the two pieces I made for the Girl Show, so people who aren't in California can look at them.

    scary panda shoes

Here are some interesting shoes my mom found online. I don't know which is more interesting, the orange color, the butt toe, or the insanely hyper Sanrio type panda on the toe.

  • Click for a full turn of the shoe

  • The shoe brand is called "Irregular Choice". Here are some more odd shoes from that maker. The one with corn on it is amusing, as is the snails, and what about those space man cowboy boots?

Here is a drawing. Duh. It is of Jump Rope girl. I did a ton of sketches of her, but decided to not use her for "The Girl Show". So I guess I'll use her for something elseseses..

    Stinky foot....

To sleepy to scan a new drawing. So here is a disgusting/cootie picture.

    Tuesday Blahs...

I think I had the Tuesday Blahs today...and so did other people. Everyone was like, blah..... so here are some drawings from about a month ago. Random stagnant girl drawings. pooooo.....Oh yes, after yesterday's bombardment of spam about colons and such in the blog comments, I have turned on visual identification. Which means, when you go to leave your comment, type in the letters that are shown to you. 'Cause spam bots are too stoooopid to figure that out. Stupid robots.

    My teeth are pearly white!

I drink to much tea. That makes teeth not-so-white. The dentist cleaning lady made them shiny. SO LIFE IS GOOD!!! I finished my second piece for the girl show, it is a tiny drawing. I found a funky goldish frame at Aaron Bros. YAAAYYAAYYY!!! There is a new song on the radio. It is the old awesomest Zelda song ever!!! "Link. He go to town..." Everyone can listen to the music in the radio. It's just more Heather oriented. It's orientation is Heather. heh heh, heh. My radio likes boys. Is it a boy radio or a girl radio? Its orientation is a mystery. I am dog gone sleepy right now (it's not even midnight!) if that explains the weirdness.... Here is one of the pages I drawd at Pricilla's Sunday. The Llahso Apso hat is of special note. The rest is poopy poop.

    How to make Fire!

I haven't tried this, but it sounds amazing!

  • How to make fire using a Coke can and a chocolate bar!

  • This is a quick crappy animation I made using adobe imageready. It's the first animation I've made since paradox, and I made it in ten minutes learning the program. Be kind. Kitty is thinking of fish, or is passing alot of gas. As for the frog, I dunno.

    Somewhere a Chicken loves you.

No matter how bad the day is, or how stupid strangers are, somewhere, a chick-a-dee loves you.

Also, here is an interesting link for today. It is a mini movie with sound. It's about Patches the horse. He likes to go joy riding for a hamburger. This is a real horse. It's kind of disturbing watching a horse eat cow. Oh well.

Poor Skippy. He went to the vet today. He will never be able to spread his seed. Unless he were cloned. Poor little guy. :(

Here is another dreampet. It is a kangeroo. The joey is indescribable in real life also.

  • Concert info, directions, and food

Ok, sounds like Tuesday is a good day to go. There is no way to reserve tickets, so we'll have to get there early and wait in line. I'm hoping tickets won't be more than $15, (there is no ticket info) and it sounds like seating is at a bar or table, so if you guys want to eat dinner there that is an option. Food doesn't sound like it'd be to expensive, they have quesadillas, salads and paninis, + alchohol. It may be best to meet around 6pm-6:30, so we can be hollywood early enough to grab tickets. I guess that way we can talk before all the loud music too.
Here's my apartment address if you guys want to meet there first. lots of free parking there.
(ha ha ha!! This info has been removed!! but the rest is still here!)
    Here is the concert info:

  • Here is a quick crappy doodle. It's the beach! I may go to a beach this weekend!

I guess this is okay to put up, this character isn't really a secret. She was on a special edition postcard at Comic Con. I hope this animates ok, the costume's sleeves have alot of hard edges. Lately I've noticed that when I use the wacom tablet, I'm used to turning the paper when I draw. Can't really do that with the wacom/computer. It makes it hard to arc some of the lines. >:(

I've been drawing piggy's on motionzoo lately. Here is one for today. The theme is "when pigs fly". Also, I found some "Danger Mouse" dvds at Tower yesterday. Dunno if it really holds up. The catipillar is still cute!

    wacom madness!!

Well, not that mad. Thanks to the loverly Mary Hoffman, I am borrowing her wacom tablet. I'm trying to get better control using it. Kinda hard. I use the mouse backwards/upside down, so I'm having a bit of trouble. Also, new annoying music in the player below da links.

    Thar be radio!

This image has nothing to do with this post. Other than crustaceans are cool.

There should be a little blue-ish radio player on the right, under the links. Click a song(some are obnoxious on purpose, but I love them!) to play it. Also, I still have not developed photos, but I shall go to Target during lunch tomorrow and "git her done".
I saw a Ray Harryhausen gallery/signing by the man himself, along with a small film festival of the man's work. I went with Valerie. We had italian ice and sushi. There were many cute little puppies being walked. The screening was at the Aero, somewhere in Santa Monica. We saw "The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad" (which I remember watching for the first time in Mr.Graber's 7th grade art class) and "Man in the Moon". The latter was amazing and hilarious. The main character is this big british jerk, who's sole intent is to blow the heads off of martians with his giant elephant gun, which was given to him by an american country bumpkin gal. The whole movie is built for the one sentence punchline at the end of the movie. It is a funny "War of the Worlds". I recommend it. Also there are giant catipillar bugs like in Nausicca, who happen to have skeletons like mammals. How can you not like it?

    self portrait

One of the directors at work (not on Titans) is keeping a sketchbook of self portraits of fellow artists. I was asked to add to it today. It's an amazing book, there are many old fellow classmates and other amazing artist portraits in there. Here is mine, with the detail. I do not know how to draw myself so I drew big bags under my eyes and a big nose. The cat is Skippy, who is my roommate. He sees things that do not exist in reality.

Note: I still haven't developed the photos from Comic Con. Poop.

    Comic Convicts!!

We just got back from Comic con San Diego Sunday night. It was a very fun weekend. Other than looking for the Wendy's that only exists in Kendra's mind. I vow next time we go there we will find it!! We went down to SD Saturday morning. Little blue car did good. The weather was great too! Overcast and dreary, just how I likes it! When we got there, it was packed and crowded. We ran into Abby and Larry, they were already glazed over. I bought a lot of books, but as of today, I've read almost all of them. I saved Mark Andrews behemoth "Colossus" for last. I found an ugly tennis player Monchichi, a stuffed Yoshi, and these awesome witch girl keychains! And some b-day presents for my little brother, who isn't that little anymore. :( Booths we were able to stop at (I know we probably missed alot of wonderful stuff) Nucleus, Flight, Emeryville Press, Stuart Ng, Bandai, Hasbro, James Baker, some anime booths, we met some some artists from Happy Tree Friends and EA who were sharing a booth. Very pleasant people. Saturday night we stayed at the Sheraton. They gave us the handicapped room, which was cool 'cause the bathroom was huge and had metal bars in the tub and shower. We went to a club calle Onyx. Warner's people and their buddies get in free, but there wasn't a whole lot of people there. So we left. Blah. We went to an Irish pub and listened to a one man band. He was very talented. Then we walked back the apartment. Went to con the next morning, had lunch with the Valerie. We stopped at Old Town San Diego on the way home and everything was good. Whew!! Photos will be up when I get the camera developed. I need a new camera. That may be one of my errands this weekend.

ackkk!! I know it doesn't go together well....but I'm running out of time. I have to drop this off at Glendale tomorrow. I will try to have lunch with Heather and Mary, and check out their wonderful land of Neopets. I am eating chocolate covered cherries with brandy in it. They would be good......except I bought them at the Cost Plus across the street from work. It looks like they've been in the box for about a decade. GROSS!!! Yet, I eat. MMMMmmmmmm..........alcoholic chocolate cherries. Disgusting!!!

I HAVE to finish my dumb sketchbook this weekend too for ze comicdom san diego. wee. I think I am burnt. There was an earthquake today too. Luckily I wasn't inking. Hopefully nothing fell on anyone's head. Skippy is sleepy. I will go to sleep too.
