Snow Lady VS. the Last Ninja

...and the winner is.......Snow Lady!
Silly ninjas, they did not factor in that they were fighting in an all white snow field, and they are dressed in black. They could not hide from the crazy yuki_onna.

This is for "The Ninja Show #2", Aug. 11, 6pm-11pm. It's due today, yeah, nothing like turning something in last minute. Yippie for busy/anxiety. It's really hard to think of something to do with ninjas, it feels like everything has been done already. Maybe it is burnout. So I took the easy way out. Eh. The paper is buckled, that's why there are some weird dark blotches on the scan.

My friend the Boogervampire and her boifran painted a guitar! I think it's pretty cool! It's going to be at the show too. Guitars are cool.

Time for bed.

You got 400 xp, -300 gp, -1000hp, zombified!

Other than being attacked by a small Naruto child with a packet of mustard in the hallway, and the insane crowds, I actually had alot of fun. I met alot of nice people, phenomenal artists, and just enjoyed being somewhere other than LA. Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who gave me signings and doodles, I wish I could scan them all in. My brain is currently regenerating, but I think it was worth it. Sorry to anyone I missed, it was so huge, and people weren't always at their booths, but you have to go to the bathroom and shower sometime. So, GOOD JOB! Anyways...
Here are the photos of Comic Con 2007, that have nothing to do with comics, but alot of toys and stuff that doesn't make sense to anyone.
The Pop Culture Con

I went and saw "The Labyrinth" Monday night, and then picked a friend up from the airport tonight. We went to dinner and I draw. Owww....my brain is still not working.

Mass exodus of NERDS

If Wonky Batgirl was going to the San Diego Comic Con, what would she bring in her utility belt??

A tomato, for when she goes to panels. She can throw them at people who ask stupid questions about why A character won't hook up with B character. She can also throw the tomatos at exclusive screenings of stuff she has decided will suck, even though she actually hasn't seen any footage yet and the crew is working long hours and putting their heart and soul into it. YAY!!

See above for baseball bat.

If you are stinky, she will be lurking in the shadows, with soap in hand.

For cleanliness, hydration, and to help move people faster through lines.

Strong enough for her and for nerds. Probably a sport fragrance.

Good teeth promote good health for all involved!

Exactly.

Other than that, for anybody going, have fun!!

Circus circus!

I think I drew a circus 'cause everything has been kinda hectic, but good and entertaining. Or maybe circus' are cool, and I'm tired. Deep.

This is for the Silent Art Auction to help families of Burbank, CA who are in need. It's going to be this coming Saturday, June 30th, from 6-7:30pm at Cartoon Network. It looks like there will be a menagerie of amazing artwork and memorbilia there.

I wanted to draw some circus puppies to go with the big piece, but I don't have time. I think someone else will be representing with the cute puppies though, so watch for that on the auction site.

The Value of Creativity

Thanks "Great Garloo" for sending this through a bulletin. This is a very inspiring clip. Listen to it while at work. It's humorous too.

Info with clip: "A must-see for every parent and teacher. Education guru Sir Ken Robinson makes an entertaining (and profoundly moving) case for creating an education system that nurtures creativity, rather than undermining it. Sir Ken Robinson is author of "Out of Our Minds: Learning to be Creative," and a leading expert on innovation in education and business. (Recorded February, 2006 in Monterey, CA.) Two years, "where's my two dollars?"

Sooooooooooooo.................
This place of randomness is two years old two day. Whoop de doo. I've been entertaining the thought of not posting anymore, but it doesn't really matter either way what happens. Things have been getting strangely busy lately, but good I think. I, I, I, I hate typing I. Self centered...stupid.... it's time not to worry about this place anymore, and focus on other things. This place was mostly meant for friends and family miles away to see what trouble I was getting into, what stupid thing I drew today, what dumb thing I found on the internet. And kitty videos, lots of kitty videos. It's mostly mutated into some sorta sketch/art blog. For most obsessively compulsive artists, it is probably bound to happen, but I like looking at everyone else's inspirations, how they interpret their day to day lives. Sadly, there is so much stuff out there, it is impossible to keep up with all of it.
I think I'll update sporadically.
I'm supposed to be working on my very own kid's book, 2nd draft is almost done, thumbnails, designs, page count, so hopefully it won't be too awful. There is also full time work, freelance, hygeine, being outside, living life, traveling, there is alot to do.
So here's some stuff, that may or may not end up being t-shirts.

Got to watch "The Last Unicorn", with some friends last night. The Red Bull joke is Valerie's. Watching this movie with a bunch of mid-late 20 yr old females is a fairly strange and hilarious experience, especially since we know all the lines.

...and for good measure, kittens in a kleenex box.

Saw "Hot Fuzz" tonight. Heelareee us.

CHOCO POTAT-OH!!!

So here is an email I got tonight through "Daily Candy". They don't usually send candy links, it's mostly annoying spam about shopping (I should really get off their mailing list, but sometimes neat stuff happens, rarely), anyway, LOOK AT THIS!!!
www.spudfudge.com

"Spud Fudge, a light chocolate made using a twelve-step process that replaces one-third of the sugar with potatoes.
The secret recipe came about when an Idaho homemaker took inventory of her kitchen and realized a new way to help keep the farmers in her native state in business. The result is an airy melt-in-your-mouth candy that's not as dense or cloyingly sweet as traditional fudge.
The chocolaty goodness is hand-rolled into (what else?) a baked-potato shape, covered with milk chocolate, topped with white chocolate "sour cream" and "butter," and wrapped in foil."

Okay Washington potato growers!! Start growing chocolate potatos!! NOW!!!
Hmmmmm..... I believe See's candy also sells a chocolate potato near St. Patrick's day, but they probably don't add potato to the mix. The drawing up there looks like it belongs on a babee bib.

Kevin Dalton

Saw this on Drawn, figured it's important, and people should know so they can help.
Quote from Drawn:
"A friend of illustrator and animator Kevin Dalton (posted previously) has informed me that Kevin has been diagnosed with Hodkin’s lymphoma which can only be treated with radiation or chemotherapy. Jillian Knox has set up the Kevin Dalton Fund, which is selling copies of his sketchbook to help fund the treatment. The fund can be reched at kevindaltonfund (AT) hotmail.com."
Link to the lulu store for the sketchbook is here.
Might as well make blogger useful for something for a change. The sketchbook looks pretty sweet too, so help an awesome artist, and get some awesome artwork!

April Foo!!

I got to do a drawing for the Marines' ¼ H&S Company, this is their mascot. He is punching a sword. I think if most people punched a sword, it would break in two, but this dragon is so bad-ass, he punches a HOLE through solid metal. Yeah! So I'm dropping it off to them soon, they liked the jpg, so YAY!!!

The "Trogdor the Burninator" song was stuck in my head the entire time!
Oh yeah, Easter is coming up, so here's a crappy drawing.

Any hoo, April fool's is over in a few hours, so here is a bunch of HORRIBLE VIDEOS!!!!

Anything Zelda related seems to make for bad videos, and I just found the origin of a personal favorite of mine.
I guess some strange guy made up a script, and some jerks made a series of short cg films to it, intending to make it as horrible as possible!
www.dancingtriforce.com has links(ha ha!) to the videos, with screensavers and such. DIC did not make it.
Here are two more horrible Zelda videos.

Feces of Evil!
I wonder what's for dinner?
Excuse me princess (all 13 episodes of it!)
Uhhh.....now go watch the "Paprika" and "Ratatouille" trailers to cleanse the brains.
