Humphrey Happy Birthday!

Today is my Mom's special birthday. She requested Humphrey the Bear. Here he is. I don't know why I didn't give Donald a gun, he should have one. :( Poor Humphrey, he is stupid and unlucky. Happy Birthday Mom! :) Hope Smokey the Bear doesn't come after you!

Humphrey is so bad at being a bear, even Smokey the Bear disapproves of him.
My mom told me a story about when she was a little girl. My grandparents, Uncle, and her, were driving to go camping at a national park (maybe Yellowstone? Don't remember). She was asleep in the back of the truck camper. A bear decided to jump onto the back of the camper and rode along for awhile. Luckily, the bear did not eat them. It was probably Humphrey.

Dumb Dumbo drawing is for the Golden Age Show in Philidelphia this Friday.

I like Dumbo. It is one of my favorite movies. I was going to do something completely different for the show, but decided to do Dumbo instead. The piece I was going to turn in I ended up hating. It is below, along with sketches I did while hanging out with my brother during a long appointment weeks ago. There are other things too. It is a Disney Dumbo Dump.

Captain EO Dumbo was drawn way before MJ died. :(

My friend's two and a half year old is obsessed with the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio, this is for her.

Some ugly Tinkerbell.

The End.

Happy Father's Day!

Here is something based on a true story. It is really bad. It is not finished.
One time, a long time ago, I got my Dad to play ponies. It only happened once for a reason. He probably doesn't remember this. But I have never been able to look at ponies the same way ever again. Sorry if it doesn't make sense. It's not on youtube for a reason.

Barf!
I actually have some My Little Pony drawings. I should post them eventually. :(

Sparkle and shine

Brain is in two different places right now. Sketched this real quick on the Cintiq. I am not dead, just insanely busy, brains melting out of my ears.
Oh yeah. I've been getting alot of emails (more like spambots, or form letters) asking me to put ads up on my blog to sell things like Ugg boots, art contests that seem a little odd, and other things I am personally not interested in. I link to friends and things I want to share with others, that's all.

Herself the Elf

Anybody remember her? I know Miss Mindy does. We had that discussion a long time ago. Most people don't remember her. I've wanted to draw her for awhile, but I finally did (not as much time on these as I would've liked.) The above image is for The Autumn Society.

Anyway, Herself the Elf was a line of toys that came out in the early 80's, probably to cash in on the popularity of Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Brite, Rose Petal's Place, etc. They were made by Mattel/American Greetings. The dolls must have done horribly because only two of my friends remember them, vaguely, and they are pretty easy to find on ebay. I used to play with them in the dirt, and thought they were neat with their spindly legs, weird hair, and bells on their clothing. They also had little plastic pointed shoes! There was a book that came out, I have/had it somewhere. I may have left it on accident on my last job at CN, so if anyone happens to see it, I'd be really happy to get it back. Hopefully it's just laying in an unopened box somewhere in my apartment. The book consists of screenshots of the pilot Nelvana made, and apparently was a mail away.

Here are some horrible cintiq doodles. I did some on paper, but am too lazy to scan.

The dolls were sooooo popular in the 80's, I was able to get one still in box for super cheap on ebay. She wasn't the only one for sale. She went to dinner with me....

My friends were not impressed. At all. This is how impressed they were:

Whatever. Have some green tea chai, Herself. We don't need them. No we don'ts.....precious.....

If this whole post isn't creepy enough, I was actually on a panel about animation production. Like I would know anything about that. Luckily, Marty, Derrick, and Matt spoke most of the time, since they know that stuff pretty well. Thank you everyone I met at Botcon! Everyone was super nice!

Uhhh....

Oops, almost posted something too early. So there is this instead. It's a monster I drew for a friend. I asked him a question through email, and this was his answer. It's nice being able to see old friends again. It's also fun to leave ugly post-its on their desks when they go home early or are away in the bathroom.

Speaking of monsters, I got interviewed. One here, and a hideous video of horror here.

Hee hee!

I finally got a cintiq, and a dandy iMac recently! Yay! Dell is having photoshop problems though, happened right after I got the new computer, but he should be fixed soon. So no scanner for me this week, but it's nice having the new equipment, planning to put them to good use!
Oh yeah, and April 1st was my 300th post. Whatever that means. Maybe a portal to another dimension will open full of sea cows, or I'll find a treasure chest, or nothing will happen. Probably nothing. K' that's all.

Time for cool videos!

Busy with stuff, but seen some neat videos online that are pretty inspiring!

The first one was found on Matt Youngberg's blog, and he actually has a post that goes into a bit more detail about this video. Matt always seems to find the neatest stuff. Go here to read info about it.

Cencoroll
The following was apparently animated by mostly one person, Atsuya Uki. It is a trailer for a feature that will be coming out later this year.

Wolf and Pig.
A guy uses photos and his environment to make a funny animated video. There is also a pig.

Beaver welcomes drivers to Canada.
Do not worry, he will be ok.

Cellphone Caprice. Animation about cellphones annoying our everyday lives.

Röyksopp 'Happy Up Here' . I'm always late to the party, this song and video is really neato.

Jab Strong Fierce, Street Fighter Tribute Show, Gallery Nucleus opening night.
It was really packed!

k'bye for now.

Hunt for Red Panda

I got the chance to make some artwork for a Street Fighter Tribute Show! There will obviously be lots of neat nerdy art at the show. There will also be a SF 4 game tournament there, so you can pretend you are punching people.

Here is the info!
Jab Strong Fierce (Street Fighter Tribute Show)
April 25, 2009 - May 11, 2009
Gallery Nucleus

Opening Reception / Apr 25, 7:00PM - 11:00PM

I drew lots of Ibuki, 'cause ninjas are always fun to draw. She is finishing a training assignment, she must find at least one red panda. It is her quest, "Hunt for Red Panda."

Some detail.

Super sleepy, going to bed.

Aprul Fuls!!

Why is this April Fool's? Because it was drawn by a fool!

I did not design Sari! Derrick Wyatt did! I got a few emails the past week for requests for Sari, since some people actually like her. Hey I do too! I'll wave my dork flag proudly, whatever. As far as drawing her, I've never drawn this version of her, ughhhhh....... Sari is owned by Hasbro, even though they will probably never make a toy of her or use her for fruit snacks.

Hey! It's Glyph! Derrick told me to put her up here. She was colored by Claire Lenth, who also does fabulous drawings! Bother her so she will actually post them!

These sketches were made while I was unemployed for five billion years. During that time Claire was also unemployed for a bit, so we would go hang out in this wonderful magic kingdom above an Anthropologie store, drinking tea along with Pinkberry yogurt. There was also much manga reading, and many copic and tria markers.

I drew some stuff that wasn't Transformers related then also. That is for another time. Oh! Skippy has a fan page too. Now he is much chubbier.

Glasses Bunny stares into your soul, he knows how you really feel.

Figured this out from Tom Perkins. Did you know you can embed graffiti from Facebook? I didn't cause I'm dumb. This is from a month ago. When I was inbetween jobs. ;)

Click the pony to watch it being born!

On a random note, I just found out my cousin has a bike named "Megatron". I think it's supposed to be named after her sister "Megan". They're both in college.

Lazy sleepy Sunday. Coffee shop drawing of furr slugs. Ewwww...

Strawberry pancakes I'm coming for you!!!

I saw "The Watchmen" opening night, the latest showing at the Arclight on Vine. Before the previews I wanted tea, came back to sit in my seat, I think the "Star Trek" trailer was running. Shoes did not have traction, I spent about five seconds trying not to fall and spill my drink on people. I fell after the awkward tap dancing, and half the theatre laughed, but I did not spill my drink! HA! One of my friends made a comment that I was very entertaining. Yay! As for "The Watchmen". It was alright.

Here is some stuff that has nothing to do with "The Watchmen". I'm hoarding stuff, for the summer. What I'm going to do with any of it depends on how much time I have. Work is good, I like work. When I'm not sneezing uncontrollably, like now.

Space girl idea that will probably be a stupid idea later this week.

Bad coloring drawing for friend. They are from the videogame "Darkstalkers". All these characters have the same color scheme! It makes it really hard to put them together! ARGGGHHHH!!! Videogames back in the day had to have limited palettes 'cause of technology and stuff. Look they have booooooobs!

I got to help out at a studio a couple of weeks ago. They showed me the wonders of Nannerpuss! I missed this commercial because I do not watch the football! Nannerpuss then willed me to do a color study, 'cause color studies are all the rage now a days. It is big size for computer desktop!

I don't like pancakes that much, but I like songs about them very much!
Here is a cute Nanner baby eating a blanket!

I will obey the traffic rules...

Ughhh....

Off model wonky for Fill 'cause I owe him, and this is what he wanted. He is off the qeue. I've been a good type of busy the last couple of weeks, and it's going to get busier. It's a relief. A big happy relief, thank goodness. Replying to emails finally today. Sorry about that.
*Also, don't remember how to draw the bottom of their shoes, or the characters. Model sheets are stuck under junk in closet, to lazy to find them. To lazy to google. Lazy.

Speaking of my laziness and inability to focus on anything not in front of me. My friend Frankie Peak updated his website, and finally has a blog! He had an endless Red Bull supply at school, I remember his wife bringing us delicious baked goods. He was a good wing man and he let me design a hot hillbilly lady for one of his films. Go bother him and send him hugs!

YAY!

I have nothing new to post! BOOOOO!!!!
So here are some things from the sketchbook I finally finished. The drawings are unfinished and old. YAY!!

If others aren't giving up on me than I can't give up on myself. I'll give LA a few more months. Never give up! Never Surrender!!

2009 is fun time.

Here is a bday present for a friend. His name is Professor Tibbles. He is an intelligent kitty.

Thanks everyone for the nice compliments on "Love Shine". I hope more people will try making their own films. The hardest thing to do is find the time, second is dealing with computer troubles, but alot of the fun is getting through problems and actually seeing it come together. It was really nostalgic to be spending time on a film, I really enjoyed making them in school, and hopefully can make some with my friends in the future. It is good to know that it can be done without having to work at a fancy studio, although that would be nice. What work I had gotten last year, most I couldn't post. It feels good to be able to have something to show for the past year, no matter how crude it is. I can at least keep animation as a hobby, no matter what happens. Never going to make another minute and a half short in two weeks again. That was REALLY STUPID! I did not sleep, and got a huge knot in my back that hurts! Also the pay is horrible!
Here is some stuffs, since some people wanted to know how I put it together.
"Love Shine" sketches and oddities, andframe grabs for anyone into that sort of thing.

Here is the animatic I used as a guide. I did make some chicken scratch thumbnails in my sketchbook first. Then I drew it in Photoshop, dumped it in Premiere, and dumped it in Flash as a guide. It's pretty gross, but it's an easy way to keep on track. Hopefully it doesn't offend any board artists that actually know what they are doing.

Here are a bunch of random videos, because it is 2009.

Merry Halloweeniemas Time!

Those two holidays are getting too close together, or maybe I'm just getting senile. I tried making the most annoying, girly Halloween cartoon I could, but was busy with a bunch of dumb crap. I got back to it this week. Here it is. I uploaded it to Vimeo, which is 1000000x better quality than pooptube. No dropped frames and blurry bgs, and you can download the quicktime file there for your own portable devices.

Love Shine from Brianne Drouhard on Vimeo.
Song Info (it's on Itunes):
Love Shine (Body Grooverz 2006 Mix)
artist: W.W.S.
album: Dance Dance Revolution - Hottest Party (c) Konami
Crappy Youtube version.

Horrible random facts:
Flash with wacom tablet. Like drawing with a giant melted crayon, on a cookie sheet, with my feet.
Two full weeks of work, off and on.
Hallucinated my tea cup was wiggly from lack of sleep.
The version on my computer actually has easy to read backgrounds.
The story still doesn't make any sense though, or fix timing and 180 problems.
Poor computer is old and I'm amazed it was able to handle this, barely.
My flight home for Xmas has been cancelled three times the last 24 hours.
I was able to finish editing because that happened.
My stomach hurts.
I'm being to negative.
But I had sushi with Clio! HA HA HA HA HA HA HAAAA!!!!
MERRY HOLIDAY SUPER WEEK EVERYBODY!!!

(Konami please don't sue me!)
