Yay! Working for myself. Maybe if I make a note of it, it will guilt me into finishing it, and I'll realize how much time I'm not spending on it. Anyways, insomnia will have to hold off for now, family is visiting this week! Hooray!! Things to do this week!!

I also got a chance to go to the Paul Driessen screening last Friday. The squishy sound effects he uses to go with his beautiful squishy animation are made with three day old macaroni!!

Now back to work. I'm sure Skippy has my entire marker/pen collection stuffed under the couch by now. Lovely.

Busy. Been slow with email, but I'm alive and everyone's stuff is getting done. How do people do it? It is good, but prioritizing, organizing, it's a job in itself.
On top with seeing old friends not seen in years, what is the point of being busy if you don't live life? Being brave enough to face old ghosts, to face new challenges, being one's self while working on projects for others'... Ahhh...prioritizing, prioritizing......

Yay! Final Fantasy VI is coming to advance. Boo! It's easier than the first version, it's on a tiny screen, and I don't have time to play it! I gave my self an assignment last week, so here's a contest. If anyone can email me all 17 of these characters' names, I will send them a surprise! (something small and lame, like a cookie, or a candy wrapper). Contest is over! I'm going to make some stuff to mail. Hope it doesn't suck.

My brother and I were always having to take the mouse apart to remove all the dust that would stick to the little rolly ball. I wonder how many people started making crude animation and music with this. Ahhh, kids these days, with their Flash and editing software that comes with everything.

This is going to be at the Nucleus show this Saturday. I got to see some of the artwork today and it was all very impressive, not like this Myspace glitter gif reject. She is supposed to be the Child-like Empress from "The Neverending Story". That is why she is holding a grain of sand, all that remains of her kingdom. (Yeah, I know there is a throne and butterflies in there, I don't know why the "nothing" didn't eat them.)

Here is a crappy marker demo for the piece. Photos were taken with a digital camera when I could remember to take them, and a different lamp was used during part of it, so it looks all yellow. Woo hoo! quicktime pro! Oooh so artsy! So pretentious!

This is going to be at The White Elephant Show. It's Pomona (the Roman goddess of the orchard), tending to her garden with her helper monkeys. More info below for a good cause!

The purpose of ³the WHITE ELEPHANT show² is to collect gifts and donations for the Children¹s Hospital of Orange County.

Everyone in attendance will be required to bring at least one new present promoting the creative arts (scissors, glue, crayons, construction paper, colored pencils, markers, wiggly eyes, yarn, etc)

Contributing ARTISTS will sell original work at a discount rate to help raise money for the hospital. 100% of sales will be donated to the Children¹s Hospital of Orange County.

On another, more whiny note, my computer's CRT monitor is dying, presumably. It made three loud popping noises last night and kept turning itself on and off. There wasn't any smoke, but it sounded like fireworks. Luckily I am borrowing an extra monitor. Is it worth the time and money to get the other one fixed? Or should I just get it properly disposed of?
