Hsien-ko

Doodling for a commision. Hsien-ko from Darkstalkers videogame. What's with the green arm? I dunno, must have some pent up aggression or something. Here are some crazy metallic unicorn stickers I found in j-town this weekend. Is this supposed to be the illegitimate child of Unico? Happy Unicorn! Unicorn Dream! With their powers combined, everything turns stupid!

Scary green girl.

urgh..

This is old. It was part of a failed freelance attempt. Anyway, they of course can go eat a big poo dog.
On another, happier note, this cool cat has a blog now. Chris Battle. You've probably seen his stuff and not even known.

Grumpy Thumb Monkey

Thumb monkey is kinda gross.... so I had to draw him with Mary's wacom!!
Man...what a cranky monkey.
This one is so gross. Made me want to try illustrator and go freehand, so I did this:

I feel all Kirsten Ulve-y, she has the mad vector skillz everybody knows! I do not mean to offend any of her fans with my half assed computer monkey.
I encourage everyone to draw a thumb monkey of their very own. He can live on your desktop and be cranky, 'cause a thumb monkey with no thumb to hold is very sad indeed. Here is another photo. I think this one is a Colubus monkey?

Another thing from today. I also made white corn tortilla soup....from scratch. BEHOLD MY PRODUCTIVNESS!!! Wha ha ha!!

cute animals found on Google

Feeling kinda groggy, but tomorrow will be an easy day. Don't want to have to scan stuff in to post, but here's some daily inspiration found on Google. Nothing is cuter and more interesting to look at than Mother Nature.

Could use a dozen of these little guys to help out with work. Maybe each one could be holding a different drawing tool? You could yell "eraser", and they run across the desk and drop it in your hand!

These guys are gross and cute at the same time. I bet they sing songs together. Like a barbershop quartet.

Octopi are just amazing. Look at those colors! He should be a model.

OOH!!! This blog is so not about the tai chi animation!
Animation teacher Blog Inspirational and sensational. :D

Huzzah suckas!!

Just felt like typing "huzzah". Finishing up freelance, gotta go to Sandy Money Kah tomorrow... Disturbing screen grabs.....I need cable.....uhh.......

Secret model sheet of poo for today is gone! Ha! Ha!
May no piece of internet paper printed for camel reference go unused.
A post-it.

    Megan Brain art show

I almost forgot to post this. Megan Brain creates beautiful, delicate, intricate paper sculptures. Her subjects are fashion, animals, and cultures from around the world. She's having a gallery show at Nickelodeon tonight, 5-7pm. The show is called "Dimensions", and another great artist, Alan Bodner will also be displaying some paper art. Here are their websites. Pay them a visit and be in awe! www.meganbrain.com

No more Halloween for another year.....BOO!

I be scanning!! My back hurts. Had lunch with a vampire, Indiana Jones, and a cowgirl yesterday at the Glendale Mall. Here be a sketch from a few months ago. I don't think I'll use her for anything anytime soon. There is so much cool Halloween stuff out there, I think if I had a project planned I'd go in another direction with this. I guess her name is Hilda. The image says "Elf" and "Elph" 'cause at the time I was looking into the Sony Elph. Alot of the reviews for that camera on Amazon said that they were extremely fragile, so I went with another camera. It's a Sony too. These drawings scare me.
I'm almost done scanning. Going to bed early tonight! Yay!
Here's a direct link to a low quality clip of the PPG anime...if no one's seen it before.

    Enchilada, burrito, y taquito!!

Yay!!! Just what everybody wants to see! More cat photos!!!
This year, Skippy wants to be an enchilada for Halloween.
He is a high calorie enchilada full of cheese and beans.
Feel bad for poor apartment kitties that don't get to go outside.

A tree kitty, mocking Skippy's confinement.
    Get in my belly!

    Sara figure painting.

Old...ughhhh. Icky naked lady. This is from 2001, my junior year at CalFarts. She's like, the most famous model at the school, or something. Look at any portfolio from that school and you'll see a bazillion sketches of her. Not that it's a bad thing. Most colleges rotate the same models I'm sure. Don't know if she still poses for the workshops or other places in LA. This wasn't done in MS paint. I think it was watercolor, during a morning session. This is a crappy scan of a laser copy of it. Don't know where the original is, so the colors are pretty greyed out. I used to paint. I miss it.

p.s. Listening to soundtrack internet radio. They're playing the

  • soundtrack. YES!!

    Artseee fartseeee!

Did this drawing for something I want to do this weekend. Found this video on boingboing I think.
  • It's an electronic paintbrush that can pick up textures and colors, and then you can paint digitally with them!
  • The video is a pretty fun demostration, and has some catchy music too!
Some more videos from www.youtube.com. They seem to have a better selection than google at the moment.
  • An old 70's anime intro

  • "Betty Boop's Snow White"
  • I'm not a big Betty Boop fan, but there are a lot morphing Fleischer gags, and an awesome Cab Calloway song.

    Kelpie

Look. A kelpie. A horse fishy creature. Drew this months ago.

I went to "The Grove" in Hollywood yesterday. It's an outdoor yuppie mall. Very entertaining. Tiny dogs are a fashion statement there. Dogs are cool, especially mutts. I saw an old man with a whippet. I would like to adopt a whippet someday. They are used in racing, and are very sweet dogs. I heard that when they retire the dogs, alot of them go up for adoption, and some have heart problems. 'Cause they run really fast. I have some old whippet drawings somewhere, maybe I'll post them soon.
Here are my dumb internet finds for the weekend. They're old and annoying. Annoying is a plus.
  • They're taking the hobbits to Isenguard!

  • MP3 of the song
