Thar be radio!

This image has nothing to do with this post. Other than crustaceans are cool.

There should be a little blue-ish radio player on the right, under the links. Click a song(some are obnoxious on purpose, but I love them!) to play it. Also, I still have not developed photos, but I shall go to Target during lunch tomorrow and "git her done".
I saw a Ray Harryhausen gallery/signing by the man himself, along with a small film festival of the man's work. I went with Valerie. We had italian ice and sushi. There were many cute little puppies being walked. The screening was at the Aero, somewhere in Santa Monica. We saw "The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad" (which I remember watching for the first time in Mr.Graber's 7th grade art class) and "Man in the Moon". The latter was amazing and hilarious. The main character is this big british jerk, who's sole intent is to blow the heads off of martians with his giant elephant gun, which was given to him by an american country bumpkin gal. The whole movie is built for the one sentence punchline at the end of the movie. It is a funny "War of the Worlds". I recommend it. Also there are giant catipillar bugs like in Nausicca, who happen to have skeletons like mammals. How can you not like it?

    self portrait

One of the directors at work (not on Titans) is keeping a sketchbook of self portraits of fellow artists. I was asked to add to it today. It's an amazing book, there are many old fellow classmates and other amazing artist portraits in there. Here is mine, with the detail. I do not know how to draw myself so I drew big bags under my eyes and a big nose. The cat is Skippy, who is my roommate. He sees things that do not exist in reality.

Note: I still haven't developed the photos from Comic Con. Poop.

    pesto

I had garlic cilantro pesto pizza from Trader Joe's for dinner. Muy good. Muy stinko butto.

Oh yeah, there is a new marker drawing of an octopus with 10 arms, a girl, and a unicorn in the miscees gallery section of my site. I'm trying to learn how to color. Must do good colors for girl show. :P

    The Girl Show

I am going to have some artwork in a show at the Nucleus gallery, September 3rd. It's a group show with talented friends, colleagues, and some amazing mystery gals. Here is a link to the press release, with more info, and what to expect at the show. Yee haw!!

This is what happened after a day of Comic Con. My theory is the sweat of comic nerds rubs off onto the lass, but acts as a magnet for the opposite sex. Causing him to buy her a drink. (This may have happened in real life.)

and this is a random drawing of a kitty's encounter with his guardian angel.

    Comic Convicts!!

We just got back from Comic con San Diego Sunday night. It was a very fun weekend. Other than looking for the Wendy's that only exists in Kendra's mind. I vow next time we go there we will find it!! We went down to SD Saturday morning. Little blue car did good. The weather was great too! Overcast and dreary, just how I likes it! When we got there, it was packed and crowded. We ran into Abby and Larry, they were already glazed over. I bought a lot of books, but as of today, I've read almost all of them. I saved Mark Andrews behemoth "Colossus" for last. I found an ugly tennis player Monchichi, a stuffed Yoshi, and these awesome witch girl keychains! And some b-day presents for my little brother, who isn't that little anymore. :( Booths we were able to stop at (I know we probably missed alot of wonderful stuff) Nucleus, Flight, Emeryville Press, Stuart Ng, Bandai, Hasbro, James Baker, some anime booths, we met some some artists from Happy Tree Friends and EA who were sharing a booth. Very pleasant people. Saturday night we stayed at the Sheraton. They gave us the handicapped room, which was cool 'cause the bathroom was huge and had metal bars in the tub and shower. We went to a club calle Onyx. Warner's people and their buddies get in free, but there wasn't a whole lot of people there. So we left. Blah. We went to an Irish pub and listened to a one man band. He was very talented. Then we walked back the apartment. Went to con the next morning, had lunch with the Valerie. We stopped at Old Town San Diego on the way home and everything was good. Whew!! Photos will be up when I get the camera developed. I need a new camera. That may be one of my errands this weekend.
