"Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann" just finished in Japan. It is really good. Hopefully the dvd's are released here soon. The robot is drawn way to small, wonky. Robots are hard to draw!
Watching this stuff is really inspiring.

i'm on episode 10 or 11 of gurren legann, i think. I think i watched too much of it at once. I'm watching another good one called "denno coil" which has pretty decent animation for anime. + the art direction is pretty subtle for anime.

Elephantmarch- The subs are still out there. All 27 have been fansubbed, but ADV recently picked it up, so it will be released on dvd soon.
Kadianimate- I've heard good things about this "Denno Coil". Will most definately check it out when free time comes.

Actually, let me be the second to recommend Dennou Coil. It really is amazing. That and Gurren Lagann kinda re-kindled my positive view of Japanese animation. The incessant garbage that's been plaguing the scene lately has been very disheartening.
Also interesing: Mononoke and Hare+Guu (which is much older).
