This is going to be at The White Elephant Show. It's Pomona (the Roman goddess of the orchard), tending to her garden with her helper monkeys. More info below for a good cause!

The purpose of ³the WHITE ELEPHANT show² is to collect gifts and donations for the Children¹s Hospital of Orange County.

Everyone in attendance will be required to bring at least one new present promoting the creative arts (scissors, glue, crayons, construction paper, colored pencils, markers, wiggly eyes, yarn, etc)

Contributing ARTISTS will sell original work at a discount rate to help raise money for the hospital. 100% of sales will be donated to the Children¹s Hospital of Orange County.

On another, more whiny note, my computer's CRT monitor is dying, presumably. It made three loud popping noises last night and kept turning itself on and off. There wasn't any smoke, but it sounded like fireworks. Luckily I am borrowing an extra monitor. Is it worth the time and money to get the other one fixed? Or should I just get it properly disposed of?

Freelance from the grave!!!! Dun dun dun!!!!

Four billion years ago, I did some freelance. Unable to get full time work as an artist for lack of experience/skillz, I was able to work on this project. Wasn't sure what came of it, but lookee here! www.hulalagirls.com So there are toys and stuffs for buying. I didn't build the site or alot of the flash/color cleanups, but most of the drawings I did under the direction of the client. It was alot of long hours, learning, and work, but it's definately prepared me for future endeavors. Maybe someday I'll get to do something of my own that also has happy creatures? :D

Some stuff going on this week that doesn't involve goblins, all though goblins are pretty cool, but this stuff is cool too.
Class of 3000 premieres this Friday, November 3rd on Cartoon Network. It has alot of great music and visual candy! There is a funky music game on the site too, so go play it and do a little dance.

Saturday is the Three Trees & Three Flowers art show at Nucleus. Looks like there is going to be a book and a Q&A with Tadahiro Sunday.

Learn how the unhealthy potato chips are made. It is all true! They can also remove the potato skins by putting them in a big air compressing thingy that will pop the skins off. That's the technical term. Big air compressing thingy.

Martha and Larry Baxton Auction 9-9-06

The Baxton auction is this Saturday, Sept.9. It will be held in the Main gallery at Calarts at 5pm. Here,here, and here, is where you can view items that will be auctioned. Alot of animation nerd memorbilia, books, posters, toys, and personal artwork. I think alot more will be added soon, so check it regularly. Please come out Saturday and help the Baxtons out. :D

These pieces will be available for those who might want them, including the "Puppy Kitty" down below. The "Disgusting Kittens" are a 3x2in post it, it comes in a nifty little frame for your dollhouse. The snail thing is weird and icky, it's supposed to be a chocolate snail, and I have no clue as to why the girl has gas. It is also framed and matted for personal home use. Hmmmmm......gross snail.....

Did somebody say "Chocobo"?

Nerd lesson for today.
Chocobos are to Final Fantasy as Taun Tauns are to Star Wars. They have an annoying theme song and look like giant chickens. They can be different colors, with each color having different skills. You don't really need them to get around in the games, they are useless. That is a moogle on the chocobo's head. They like to dance and only say stupid things like "Kupo!". They like to eat nuts. I think the birds from Nausicca came first, so the chocobo is probably a rip off of that.
Many hours of highschool were spent listening to teachers while I drew videogame characters. This is why I'm now stupid. Be smart, read books.

The Endangered Puppy Kitty

It's a puppy kitty, a relative of the demon Furby. He is the last Puppy Kitty in existence. He feeds on the souls of the young and innocent, and his ears are stinky. I'm not sure what to think of him, he looks like some sort of escapee from "All Dogs go to Heaven" or something. Errrggghhheeewwwww....

If you wish to adopt the Puppy Kitty, he shall be at the Martha and Larry Baxton auction. It looks like they are still accepting donations and pieces, so if you have the time and means, please do. Puppy Kitty will be happy.

Oh pandora radio, it is so fantastic. I love it! You give it suggestions of the music you like, and it plays similar music, including your favorites. Plus, if you run across a song you like, you can bookmark it, by artist, album, or song, with direct links to Itunes and amazon in case you want to buy it. Legally. It is fun to listen to while working on the computer, I am sure artists and anyone else stuck in front of computers may like this link too. I am going to miss it when I go back to work next week.

I was watching the movie "Sequins". I tried to draw the actors. Oh well, it was fun to draw at least. The movie was pretty good. It's about motherhood and embroidery.
